Gajar ka halwa/carrot halwa


All u need





Ingredients

carrots 1kg
condensed milk 1 can
sugar 1/2 cup
ghee/clarified butter 2tsp
chopped cashews 2tsp
chopped almonds 2tsp
raisins 2tsp
milk 1/2 cup

Recipe

1.Grate the carrots.


2.In a microwave safe bowl add grated carrots & mix 1/2 cup milk,this goes in the microwave for 3 Min's.


3.After 3 Min's,take out the bowl,give it a quick mix,add 2tsp ghee & sugar,mix well,this goes in the oven for 3 mins.





4.After 3 Min's take out the bowl,give everything  a quick mix,add condensed milk & chopped nuts,mix well & again pop it into microwave for 4 Min's.


5.After 4 Min's,repeat the process,give it a quick stir & again it goes in the microwave for 4 Min's.
6.After 4 Min's again take out the bowl,give it a quick stir,& pop it back in the microwave for 4 more Min's.


7.After 4 Min's gajar ka halwa must be ready,the 90% water must be evaporated until now,& all the carrots must be well cooked,if you think its not fully done,you can again pop it in the microwave until you are satisfied with the results.



Delicious carrot halwa us ready(approx takes 20 mins),last thing is to mix 1tsp cardamom powder,you can also add few drops of red food colour to get that authentic gajar ka halwa colour.

  1. Thanks for the Recepie... just to quick ask - While cooking carrots with milk in the Microwave , should the bowl covered or not ?

    1. @diptik thnks for your interest in my blog,yes the bowl has to be covered to speed up the process & limit the time of cooking,as heat is kept intact if you`ll cover the bowl,with a microwave safe lid & also make sure to stir the mixture after every time intervals.Do try the recipe & do post how it turned out to be & keep commenting,because each & every word do count.
