Sambhar recipe
All u need
Ingredients
Toohar/arhar/yellow dal 1 1/2 cup
Tamaring paste 4-5 tbsp
Chopped onion 1 medium size
Chopped tomatoes 2 medium size
Chopped veggies 1 cup(i have used drumsticks,cauliflower & carrots)
curry leaves for tampering
Cumin seeds 1 tsp
Mustard seeds 1tsp
Hing just a pinch
Fenugreek seeds 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Recipe
1.Boil the yellow dal with some salt & turmeric & keep it seperate.
2.Heat the pan with some oil add cumin seeds,mustard seeds,fenugreek seeds,hing,curry leaves & chopped onions.
3.Saute the onions for few mins than add all the veggies.
4.After saute for few mins add chopped tomatoes.
5.Add sambhar masala,tamarind juice & water & let it boil.
6.Once Veggies are cooked 1/3rd than add boiled yellow daal & cook for another 10 mins.
(you have to cook sambhar at a medium low heat,dont be in a hurry to cook.for authentic sambhar taste try making the sambhar masala at home,below is the link.)
