Chickpeas & boiled potato salad

CHICKPEAS & POTATO SALAD


Chickpeas are rich source of protein.There are two main kinds of chickpea one is desi meaning local which are smaller in size,darker in colour & a rough coat.The other type is Kabuli which is lighter in colour,larger in size,& a smoother coat.Today we`ll be using this kind of chickpea for our salad.

ALL U NEED

INGREDIENTS

Chickpeas 1 cup
Boiled & peeled potatoes 1cup
chopped onion 1 medium
Chopped tomatoes 1 medium
Chopped capsicum (red & yellow)
Chopped green chillies(optional)
cumin seeds 1/2 tbsp
cumin powder 1/2 tbsp
chaat masala 1/2 tbsp
lemon juice 1/4 cup
salt to taste
Cilantro for garnishing
Mint leaves for garnishing
oil 1tbsp
(chickpeas need to be soaked in water overnight & boiled next day)
 
Recipe

1.Heat the oil in a pan,add cumin seeds to splutter.
2.Now add chopped onions,fry for a min.
3.Now add chopped red & yellow capsicum & fry for another min.(remember we dont want them to be overcooked,so just fry them for 1-2 mins)
4.Now add chopped tomatoes,with boiled & drained chickpeas & boiled potatoes.
5.Now time to add seasoning,add salt,pepper,cumin powder,chaat masala.
6.squeeze lemon juice on top.
7.Salad is ready,garnish it on top with cilantro & mint leaves.

Yummy chickpea salad is ready to be served.its an excellent side dish.serve it with any bread of your choice.Remember you can season it with herbs of your choice.
